Mobile gaming – worth it?

I’ve never really understood the point of mobile gambling, which means a phone application for an online casino. Do people really need casinos in their phones? And do they really gamble when they’re out and about? Personally I would rather be in a relaxed environment when betting money on casino games. However, a lot of the big casino portals like juegosdelcasino.es and Nexusgames put a lot of focus on mobile gaming, of which you can find out more here.

I first got in to casino gaming when I started working as a marketing manager for a casino review company that was quickly gaining popularity. I remember that mobile gaming was a word that was on everybody’s lips, and everyone predicted it to be the next game changer in the industry. This was back in 2003, and people really thought that it was only a matter of a couple of months until the mobile casino apps would be able to offer the same kind of experience that a normal casino could. May I remind you that back in those days, having a color screen on your phone weren’t even the norm in many countries? And not to mention that Java-support was something that mosts phones still lacked. It was no surprise for me that it took a lot longer for mobile technology to get advanced enough to provide good mobile casino games.

My main problem, however, is that I can’t understand who anyone in their right mind would want to gamble on their phones. With such a large number of great casino games around to be found on websites like Tragamonedas or other gaming centrals like Juegos Casinos, I want to have the best graphics possible. When I gamble, I want it to be a good experience. I’m not expecting to win money, is just want to enjoy the thrill of online gambling. Isn’t that quite hard to generate if you start gambling all the time, like on a noisy bus for example? For me that would just probably be a waste of money, unless I got lucky and won a lot. And even though today’s technology is good enough to make good casino games for phones, they’re not going to be as good as the real deal. It’s always going to be a better experience playing on a decent screen on a computer than it would be on a mobile phone, which is never too big to fit in your pocket.

All in all, I think it’s a good thing that mobile technology is advancing, and sure, there are a lot of good things that comes with mobile internet. Just the fact that we can access most websites through a phone today is of course amazing, but I just don’t see the point of playing online casino games on your phone. Just normal games for passing time, sure, but spending your hard earned cash on casino games in an environment where you can’t even enjoy them fully? No thanks!
